Do you want to start your own local Open Science Community and join our network? You can either follow the steps described in our OSC Starter Kit or join our online OSC Incubator Program.

OSC Starter Kit (for free!)

Four steps of the Open Science Community Starter Kit:
1. Prepare and Launch
2. Grow and Inspire
3. Foster and Maintain
4. Dream and Scheme

OSC Incubator Program (also free!)

In this online incubator program, offered twice per year, we will assist up to 10 participants from around the globe in setting-up their local Open Science Community.
The incubator program is a 16-week online program, based on the OSC Starter Kit, and consists of six modules:

1. Community Identity
2. Community Engagement
3. Communication Strategy
4. Stakeholder Engagement
5. Governance and Sustainability
6. Open!

We are able to offer the OSC Incubator Program and free of charge, thanks to support from the EU funded projects AURORA RI and Skills4EOSC. The program is suited both for researchers and research support staff – both are well suited to set-up an OSC. The estimated workload, including meetings, assignments and reading materials, is about 100 hours in total. Please find below the dates of the upcoming Incubator Program. All online sessions are from 15.00 – 17.00 CEST (meet-ups) or 15.00 – 16.00 CEST (check-ins).

Registration for the Winter/Spring Edition 2025 of the OSC Incubator Program open is now CLOSED. As the number of participants that we can accommodate is limited, we’ll evaluate all applications and select participants, based on motivation and geographical spread. We’ll let you know whether your are selected before Dec 20th.
