Satellite event of the National Open Science Festival
We are fully booked and we still have 20 people on the waiting list, so if you are not one of those, we advise you to wait for a next Barcamp. The German Open Science Barcamp will be held on June 10th, 2026 in Berlin .
The second edition of the OSC-NL Barcamp will take place the day before the Netherlands National Open Science Festival (OSF2025NL), this year in Groningen.
This event brings together 100 open science enthusiasts, from novices to people more experienced in open science practices to encourage new ideas, knowledge exchange, and an open dialogue amongst peers. There will also be pizza!
This Barcamp is organised by the network of bottom-up Open Science Communities OSC-NL and LCRDM, with financial aid of the Open Science Meeting Fund.
What is a Barcamp?
A Barcamp is an all-day-long event with no predetermined programme – the topics of all sessions are determined on the spot. During the plenary sessions, anyone can propose a topic for a break-out session, you as well! Next, anyone can join these sessions and get to work.
In 2024, over 100 open science enthusiasts and professionals got together to work on 24 topics such as:
- Using generative AI for research summaries
- Designing an open access game called ‘Legacy’
- Bridging the gap between researchers and data professionals
- Citizen science
- How to get institutional support
- Creating a knowledge base for the open science communities (OSCs)
The aim of these sessions is for the community to continue to work on these projects.
