An OSC-NL Open Consultation Panel
On this page we share requests for input with the broader Open Science Community in the Netherlands. These can differ from policy consultations, ideas for national working groups, petitions and surveys to sticker slogans.
One of the aims of OSC-NL is to provide input to policy, infrastructure and services on a national level. We vocalise the opportunities and needs of those who put OS to practice. National stakeholders in the OS landscape ask us to provide input to policy, infrastructure and services but we also start up consultations or petitions ourselves if we feel this is needed.
OSC-NL will contact you via email when a new consultation opens up. We will share consultations from our bottom-up network as well as other national stakeholders; the stakeholder(s) will always be mentioned. Your participation in any of the consultations we share is entirely voluntary. We will send you a maximum of ten emails a year.
Open Consultations
This request is continuously open, because we want to hear from you what is on your mind!
What draws more attention to Open Science than a strategically placed sticker on your laptop, suitcase or water bottle? Get into your highest creative gear and send in a catchphrase which you think will seduce, convince or get other people curious about Open Science.
You can submit just the phrase but also add a complete sticker design. All ideas should be sent in before September 1st: voting – by everyone in the community – will start at September 4th and close on September 11th. The three most voted ideas will then be printed and handed out during the Open Science Festival Barcamp on October 23d! Plus all three winners will receive 100 copies each of their sticker to cover every surface they get their hands on. See the dedicated Sticker Contest Page for more info and to submit your idea!
In March 2024, during the Open Science Retreat in Schoorl, NL, participants came together to discuss a new ‘Narrative for sustainable Open Access’. This resulted in the following Call to Commitment, with over 400 signatories.
In January 2025, the petition and the list of the 408 first signatories was shared with the UKB Consortium, the Universities of the Netherlands and SURF who negotiate jointly with national and international publishers about licenses for digital information sources. We hope the support of these first signatories can inspire the negotiations.
If you want to add your name as well, see below For the text of the petition and the list of signatories, go to the Call to commitment page
